Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Household Hazardous Waste or “HHW” are unwanted products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable or reactive ingredients that require special care upon disposal. The Porter County Recycling and Waste Reduction District hosts events throughout the county in which residents can safely dispose of these materials.

During this June 12 collection event, Secure Shred Document Disposal will be available.

Accepted materials include household cleaners, pesticides, kerosene, gasoline, oil-based paints, antifreeze, solvents and much more. A longer list of accepted items can be found at www.portercountyrecycling.org.

Please Note: Electronics or latex paints will NOT be accepted at any Household Hazardous Waste Collection events. Tires will only be accepted at the October 9th Household Hazardous Waste Collection event.
