DESCRIPTION:Household Hazardous Waste or "HHW" are unwanted products that contain corrosive\, toxic\, ignitable or reactive ingredients that require special care upon disposal. The Porter County Recycling and Waste Reduction District hosts events throughout the county in which residents can safely dispose of these materials.\n\n\n\nDuring this June 12 collection event\, Secure Shred Document Disposal will be available.\n\nAccepted materials include household cleaners\, pesticides\, kerosene\, gasoline\, oil-based paints\, antifreeze\, solvents and much more. A longer list of accepted items can be found at www.portercountyrecycling.org.\n\nPlease Note: Electronics or latex paints will NOT be accepted at any Household Hazardous Waste Collection events. Tires will only be accepted at the October 9th Household Hazardous Waste Collection event.\n\n\n\nResidents are advised to use caution and continue to observe all social distancing guidelines
