The United Way Northwest Indiana will help first-time and repeat homebuyers get ready  for their biggest investments, thanks to an exciting First Time Homebuyer Vendor Fair.  This event is open to the public, and prospective buyers will be able to meet directly with  real estate agents, Realtors, lenders, home appraisers and many professionals. 

According to Bankrate.com: 

• First time homebuyers made up 32% of all buyers in 2023, up from 22% of all buyers in  2022.  

• The median age of first time homebuyers was 35 years old. 

• African-American buyers made up 49% of first time buyers; 32% were Hispanic/Latino;  and, 24% of buyers were White/Caucasian. 

“Home ownership builds a family’s financial health, but it’s also a great way to continue to  build strong communities,” said Adam O’Doherty, President/CEO of the United Way  

Northwest Indiana. “This First Time Homebuyer Vendor Fair is an excellent opportunity for  people looking to buy their first or next home to brush up on the latest information.” 

This event is free to the public, and attendees can enter drawings for great prizes from  retailers like Home Depot, Lowes, Meijer and more!
