Valparaiso, Indiana – 12/17/2024 – United Way Northwest Indiana is excited to announce the appointment of Chris White as its new Chief Executive Officer. White, who previously served as Publisher of the Times of Northwest Indiana from 2013 to 2023, brings extensive regional leadership experience and a strong commitment to community engagement. Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, the Salvation Army, and One Region. A former long-time board member and chairman of Lake Area United Way, White played a key role in the creation of the Level Up program, which has become a cornerstone of regional community development.
“Chris’s deep roots in the community and his proven leadership in both the public and nonprofit sectors make him the ideal leader for United Way Northwest Indiana at this critical time in our growth,” said Marisa Smoljan, Chair of the Board of Directors. “His track record of collaboration, innovation, and dedication to meaningful change aligns perfectly with our mission. We are confident that under his leadership, the organization will continue to expand its impact and build a stronger, more resilient future for our region.”
