Portage, IN, May 2026 – The Portage Township YMCA is proud to announce its participation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This program ensures that children and teens in the Greater Portage Area can continue to receive healthy, free meals and snacks when school is out for the summer.

When school lets out, many children lose access to the free and reduced-price meals they rely on during the academic year. The SFSP bridges this gap by providing free, nutritious meals to help children reach their full potential.

Meals will be provided to all children 18 years of age and under without charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for everyone regardless of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), age, or disability.

Beginning Wednesday, June 3, 2026 and ending Tuesday, August 11, 2026, meals will be served at the following locations and times:

  • Portage Township YMCA: 3100 Willowcreek Rd., Portage, IN 46368 | Monday-Friday | Breakfast 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM, Lunch 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
