Portage Township YMCA Announces “Facts & Fools Trivia” Fundraising Event

Community invited to test their knowledge while supporting YMCA programs and scholarships

PORTAGE, IN — The Portage Township YMCA is inviting the community to put their knowledge to the test at Facts & Fools Trivia, a lively evening of friendly competition, laughter, and community impact. Formerly known as Total Knockout Trivia, the newly rebranded event will bring together teams, local businesses, and supporters for a night of fun while raising funds to support YMCA programs and financial assistance for local families.

Facts & Fools Trivia will take place at the Portage Township YMCA, 3100 Willowcreek Road, Portage, and will feature multiple rounds of trivia covering a wide variety of topics—from pop culture and sports to history, science, and more. Teams will compete for bragging rights, prizes, and the coveted trivia champion title.

In addition to trivia rounds, the event will include raffles, games, and opportunities to win prizes throughout the night. Participants are encouraged to bring their creativity and team spirit—costumes and themed tables are welcome and add to the fun atmosphere.

“Facts & Fools Trivia is one of our favorite community events because it brings people together for a night of laughter and friendly competition while supporting an important cause,” said Shannon Burhans, YMCA CEO & President. “Every table and sponsorship helps ensure that individuals and families in our community have access to YMCA programs that strengthen youth development, promote healthy living, and foster social responsibility.”

Proceeds from the event will help support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, which provides financial assistance to individuals and families who may not otherwise be able to afford YMCA memberships, childcare, youth sports, summer camps, and other life-changing programs. The Portage Township YMCA is committed to ensuring that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay.

Community members can participate by purchasing individual tickets, or becoming a table sponsor. Table sponsorships provide a great opportunity for local businesses and organizations to show their community support while gaining visibility among event attendees.

The YMCA encourages businesses, organizations, and groups of friends to gather a team and buy tickets early, as space is limited.
