Valparaiso, IN – Northwest Health – Porter has announced its selections for Employee of the Year, Clinical Leader of the Year and Non-Clinical Manager of the Year, honoring individuals who were nominated by their peers for their outstanding performance and exemplary service.

The winners are as follows:

Employee of the Year: Kimberly Sullivan, RN

A core member of the emergency department’s nursing staff, Kimberly Sullivan mentors new staff, supports nursing managers and helps lead departmental improvements. Known for her calm, confident and compassionate care, she advocates for her patients and goes above and beyond to meet their needs. Whether precepting new nurses, strengthening EMS relationships or assisting patients in crisis, Sullivan’s expertise, teamwork and dedication make her an invaluable member of the emergency department team.

Sullivan is also known for “going above and beyond” to care for her patients.  She recently cared for a young mother and her child who were in a car accident. They were from out of town and their car with all their belongings had been towed to a place that was closed at the time of discharge. Sullivan went to the store to purchase some clothes for the patient and her young child so they had something to wear until they could get to their car and their own clothes the following day. She also helped them find a place to stay the night and arrange transportation.

Clinical Leader of the Year: Kris Springman, RT(R)(CT), CIIP

A team player and avid collaborator, Kris Springman leads the radiology teams at Northwest Health – Valparaiso and Northwest Health – Portage with professionalism, positivity and a patient-focused approach.  Springman has shown initiative, persistence and collaboration at every step of his career with the hospital.  He supports the imaging and neuro-diagnostic staffs and manages IT transitions; all while improving engagement and problem-solving complex issues.

Non-Clinical Manager of the Year: Kim Land, CPCS, CPMSM

Known for her expertise in medical staff bylaws, regulations and compliance, she approaches every task with professionalism, kindness and a positive attitude.
