A “Girls Like Us” Christmas Concert!
PORTAGE, INDIANA: What a “merry” good holiday entertainment idea! The fabulous singing trio, “GIRLS LIKE US” will be performing their terrific “Christmas Show: A Little Naughty, Mostly Nice” on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., on stage at Portage High School West Auditorium! Admission price at the door is Adults/$20, or present a Portage LIVE! Reciprocity Concert Season Ticket Pass. The concert is FREE to Portage High School students. Portage High School is located at 6450 U.S. Highway 6, in Portage, Indiana.
GIRLS LIKE US really know how to put on a crowd-pleasing show and each of the seasoned performers is a star! LAURA FREEMAN, creator of tributes to Doris Day and Julie Andrews, has toured the U.S. and Europe extensively in such musical productions as Into the Woods and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Locally, she has worked at Chicago Dramatists, Ravinia, Theater at the Center, The Metropolis, Freedom Hall, and various concert venues throughout the Midwest. BECKIE MENZIE is an award-winning concert artist and has appeared at some of the nation’s top venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Birdland in New York City, and Chicago’s Auditorium Theater and Park West. She also tours the U.S. with Tom Michael and the duo’s been called “one of the most compelling acts in cabaret”. MARIANNE MURPHY ORLAND has performed as a cabaret artist, voice actor, show band and society orchestra singer, locally, nationally, and internationally. Her critically-acclaimed and sold-out performances in the Chicagoland area include venues such as the Auditorium Theater, Park West, Drury Lane, Victory Gardens, Metropolis Center for Performing Arts, and Skokie Theater. Marianne’s popular tribute shows include the Life and Music of Karen Carpenter, Petula Clark, and Dolly Parton.
