Portage, Ind. – May 23, 2025 – Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana (BGCGNWI) announces the kickoff of its second annual Clubhouse Hero Challenge, a dynamic fundraising event taking place from May 25 to June 8. During this year’s challenge, 16 big-hearted champions for kids throughout Lake and Porter counties will rally their supporters to see who can raise the most funds to support BGCGNWI Clubs and youth programming. The winning hero will deliver on a fun promise of their choice to a Club.

BGCGNWI provides positive and supportive environments for youth ages five through 18, offering programs focused on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship. The Clubhouse Hero Challenge will directly benefit these crucial year-round programs, ensuring that the Clubs can continue to serve a beacon of hope and opportunity for local youth.

"The Clubhouse Hero Challenge is a fantastic opportunity for individuals to positively impact the lives of our Club members," said Denise Koebcke, Vice President of Philanthropy at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana. "We’ve nearly doubled the number of heroes participating this year; it’s exciting to see so many community members step up in support of our region’s youth.  The funds they raise will be instrumental in supporting our after-school programs, educational initiatives, and overall efforts to empower young people to reach their full potential.”

This year’s Clubhouse Heroes come from a diverse cross section of the community, ranging from civil servants, business leaders, former Club kids, an educator, and others deeply committed to making a positive difference in children’s lives and futures. Their winning promises range from pizza parties to water balloon fights, with one hero pledging to sit in a dunk tank if she wins. They come with a competitive spirit and passion to help make a difference in the lives of BGCGNWI’s Club kids.

Community members can get involved by supporting a participating hero with a donation through their fundraising page and by spreading the word about the challenge with friends, family, and colleagues. More information about this year’s Clubhouse Heroes, their winning promises, and donation links are available at bgcgreaternwi.org/2025-heroes.
