Music in the Park-Founders Square

"This Summer, Portage Township Live Entertainment has joined with the City of Portage to host a new series of 13 concerts at the new outdoor Indiana-American Water Amphitheater at Founders Square on all Sunday afternoons in June, July and August from 1 to 2:30 pm.  The series is made possible by the Founders Fund Campaign, which was announced by Mayor James Snyder last fall at the dedication of the new amphitheater.  The Founders Fund is held by Porter County Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation, for the sole purpose of funding festivals, events and entertainment in the City of Portage.  Mayor Snyder's goal is to raise $2,000,000 through five-year pledges, with funds divided for events in the city over the next five years and a fund known as the Maestro Fund that will use only earnings on the fund to produce concerts in Portage free to the public and in perpetuity if the goal is achieved.  Donors will be recognized with bricks in the ground or wall tiles at the amphitheater.
