Qualifications
•Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology
•Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and ILead Mod 1-4
•Online trainings required prior to the start of employment
•Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
•Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
•Minimum age 18 is required
•Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively
•Must have high level of alertness, concentration, and initiative
•Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform job responsibilities
•Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; occasionally stoop/bend

•Supports the lead camp counselor by planning activities and caring for the children in the camp program
•Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring
•Assists the lead with plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values
•Supervises a group of children in structured and unstructured activities
•Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies
•Ensure all children are signed in/out with time of drop off/pick up, checking ID’s with pick up list
•Uphold and teach the five core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Faith
•Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child
•Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents
•Maintains required program records
•Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
•Performs other duties as assigned

This camp runs for 10 weeks, Monday through Friday. Weekly field trips with campers is required.
The shifts could be 600a-900a, 9a-3p and 3p-630p.
