DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, April 21\, the Y is celebrating Healthy Kids Day \, the Y's national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families.\n\nYMCA's Healthy Kids Day will include the Preschool Academy's Scholastic Book Fair\, FREE samples from Kona Ice\, multiple bounce houses and engaging activities\, performances and demonstrations to keep kids moving and learning\, in order to maintain healthy habits and academic skills to achieve goals and reach their full potential. \n\nWhen kids are out of school\, they can face hurdles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. As a leading nonprofit committed to youth development\, healthy living and social responsibility\, the Y is addressing critical gaps in kids' health and education.\n\nFor over 25 years Healthy Kids Day has celebrated kids' health and continues to teach healthy habits for kids and families\, encourage active play and inspire a lifetime love of physical activity. \n\n\n\nAs a bonus\, the general public and Healthy Kids Day participants can attend the Portage Ys Annual Meeting beginning at 2pm in the gymnasium on April 21 with healthy snacks followed by a short presentation by President and CEO\, Shannon Burhans.
